The agreement
By using this website, contacting us, or booking a pickup, you agree to these terms. “We”, “us” and “HI Junk Removal” mean Henry & Irvin Junk Removal. “You” means the person requesting the work. We serve Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts.
Quotes and pricing
- A ballpark we give from photos, a phone call or a text is an estimate to help you plan. It isn't a final price, because volume is easier to see than to guess.
- The firm quote is given in person, before we lift anything, based on how much of the truck the load fills. There's no obligation — if the number doesn't work for you, we shake hands and leave.
- Once you accept the quote, it's firm for the job as we saw it. If the job changes — more items appear, or something turns out to be different from what we looked at — we tell you the new number before we continue, and you decide.
Booking windows
Booking through the site picks a two-hour arrival window. What that window means depends on how the site is set up at the time:
- Email mode: your booking is a request. It isn't final until we confirm it by email (or text), usually the same day.
- Calendar mode: when live availability is turned on, the window is reserved for you the moment you book, and you get a confirmation right away.
Either way, we aim to arrive inside the window and text when we're about 30 minutes out. If something on our end means we can't make it, we tell you before the window passes, not after.
Changes and cancellations
Plans change. If you need to move or cancel a pickup, give us as much notice as you can — reply to your confirmation email, or call or text (401) 441-2541. That lets us offer the window to another neighbor. We may cancel or reschedule for weather, safety or an emergency, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.
What we can't take, and what you need to tell us
Some things we aren't able to haul, by law or for safety:
- Paint, stains & solvents
- Gasoline, oil & propane tanks
- Asbestos or suspected asbestos
- Chemicals, pesticides & fertilizer
- Medical or biohazard waste
- Wet trash & food waste
Not sure where something goes? Ask us. Rhode Island Resource Recovery in Johnston runs household hazardous-waste days, Massachusetts towns run their own, and we will point you the right way either side of the line.
You agree to tell us before we start about anything hazardous, leaking, sharp, infested (bedbugs, for example) or otherwise unsafe, and about anything that is still connected to gas, water or hardwired power. We may decline any item on site that we didn't know about or that isn't safe to move, and that doesn't change the price of the rest of the job. You're responsible for items you don't disclose.
Your stuff and your property
- You confirm you own the items or have the right to have them removed, and that we have permission to be on the property.
- Set aside anything you want to keep before we load. Once an item is on the truck it's on its way to donation, recycling or disposal and generally can't be returned.
- We protect floors and doorframes and sweep up when we're done. Tell us about anything fragile or tight on the way out so we can plan the carry.
Donation and recycling
We donate and recycle first whenever we can. Whether a particular item is donated, recycled or disposed of is at our discretion, based on its condition and what our donation and recycling partners will accept that day. We can't promise a specific destination for any item. When a charity gives us a donation receipt, we pass it to you; we can't issue receipts ourselves.
Payment
Payment is due when the job is complete, at the price you accepted. We confirm which payment methods we take when we quote — just ask. Any recycling fees that apply (for example, mattresses, electronics or refrigerant units) are included in the quote, never added afterward.
Liability
We take real care in your home, and if we damage something through our own carelessness we'll make it right. Beyond that, and except where the law says otherwise, our total liability for any job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job, and we aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits any liability that can't be limited under applicable law.
Website content
The site is provided “as is.” We try to keep everything accurate and current, but we don't guarantee it, and we may change the site, its prices and these terms at any time. Service descriptions, load-size guides and any starting prices are for general guidance; only the in-person quote is binding. Customer stories shown on the site are labeled as samples until real reviews are published. The name, logo and content on this site belong to Henry & Irvin Junk Removal and may not be copied for commercial use without permission.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that we can't sort out by talking will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Rhode Island. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
Changes and contact
When we update these terms we'll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Questions? Email Hgarcia1243@gmail.com or call or text (401) 441-2541.
